Trade Unions, Labour and Social Dialogue

Trade Unions in Ghana are a well-organised and powerful voice for workers (both formal and informal) compared to other trade unions in West Africa. The Trades Union Congress (TUC) Ghana with its 19 affiliates is one of the "oldest" partner organisations of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung began collaboration with the Ghana TUC in the late 1960s. Traditionally, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is committed to the partnership with trade unions all around the world to promote social justice, better working conditions, minimum wage discussions and an employment-oriented growth.

With the TUC, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung initiates social and economic policy dialogues, capacity-building trainings, and studies on various labour related issues.
