  7. Ghana’s Economic System
  8. Conflict Management
  9. Africa and the Global Economy
  10. Project Management
  11. Public Relations and Media Literacy
  12. Re-engineering for Social Change
  13. Basic Social Research Skills
  14. Local Government and Decentralisation

This year’s training has been a unique one given the fact that all the training sessions were held in residence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The main rationale was to keep the participants in-residence throughout the duration of each phase so as to avoid contact with the external community while strictly observing the COVID-19 protocols. There were four (4) residential phases in all which occurred at a monthly interval.

Participants were in nose mask throughout the learning sessions and appropriately physically spaced with minimal contacts. This arrangement did not however take away the resolve by the participants, trainers and organisers to ensure the ultimate success of the training in an environment of learning and sharing.

The Resident Representative of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung – Ghana, Mr. Johann Ivanov took time off his busy schedule to engage with the participants during their final residential phase. Discussions between the participants and Mr. Ivanov centered around the FES Global and FES Ghana working lines, questions on Political Ideology and Development in Ghana and Africa, and many more.

It has indeed been a great learning and unlearning experience for the 2020 Cohort of our Young Leaders Programme. Together with our partner, Youth Network for Human Rights and Democracy (YouNet), we congratulate the 2020 Cohort and wish them well in their bid to influence the political, leadership and development space of Ghana. We look forward to their graduation and certification event later this month.
